Sewage treatment plants produce a large amount of sludge every day. Studies have shown that the sludge contains heavy metals such as copper, zinc, chromium, mercury, salts and other difficult-to-degrade toxic and harmful substances, as well as persistent organic pollutants and environmental persistent pharmaceutical pollution. In addition, the sludge also contains a large number of parasite eggs, pathogenic microorganisms, and viruses.

High-pressure mud transportation and program-controlled membrane filter press are the key processes of sludge concentration treatment. The metal parts are worn very seriously when the mud flows at high pressure and high speed, and ordinary flow pumps cannot meet the process conditions well. The sludge plunger pump uses ceramic plungers to effectively increase the operating life of the equipment. It has been widely used in ceramics, non-metallic, chemical, mining, sludge and sewage treatment fields.

Sludge plunger pumps can be divided into high-pressure pumps, low-pressure large-flow pumps and variable pumps. Similar equipment is divided into ordinary material pumps and anti-corrosion and acid-resistant pumps. The high-pressure pump is suitable for long-distance or high-lift slurry transportation; the low-pressure and large-flow pump is suitable for stably conveying a large amount of slurry; the variable pump is suitable for use with various program-controlled diaphragm filter presses.

There are many factors restricting the construction of sludge treatment and disposal facilities, but the national overall technical route for sludge treatment and disposal is not clear enough is one of the important constraints. In order to alleviate the contradiction between the sludge production and the lagging sludge treatment capacity, my country has issued a series of policies and plans in recent years. At present, the technical route and industrial policy of my country's sludge treatment are gradually being clarified, and industrialization and marketization are about to start. At the same time, sludge disposal will receive more and more attention, and the technology, policies and operation methods of sludge disposal will make breakthroughs in the near future.
